...was yesterday in Ukraine. Fun Stuff. And the 4th is coming up
soon. I'll be praying for ya'll. Let me know how it goes.

For Constitution Day my English Class had an icecream party and during
evening program we sang the Ukrainian National Anthom. :o)

Today was the last day of English Classes for Camp 2. Sad Day. I
love my kids. We had a lot of fun and today they made Skeef and I a
poster with a map of Ukraine on it and they each circled where they
lived and wrote us notes. It is AWESOME!!! I'm gonna hang it up in
the American office, I think...if Skeef will let me I will hang it up
in my room, but I'm thinking Am. office. :o)

Skeef says "you're killing me, Smalls" (you know, from the Sandlot!?!?)
all the time, so the Twins got me to say it in Russian and they think
it is hillarios. Oh, the random Russian I know...

Last night was repentance night. and again, I have no words. God
never ceases to amaze me. I wish I could describe what He is doing
here, but I really can't.

There is a girl in my English Class that I would like you to pray
for...I can't remember her name right now, but last night she and I
talked for a long time and she basically said that she is struggling
really hard on deciding to accept Christ or not. She said she really
wants to, but she is afraid of how her family will react. Her dad is
an alcholic and he beats both her and her mom. She knows that neither
her mother or her father will like her decision to become a Christian
and she isn't sure what to do. She and I prayed and Amberly also
spoke with her and prayed with her. It breaks my heart to know that
she will be going home tomorrow to an abusive family, but my prayer
for her is that she will not be going alone. That Jesus will be with
her and that she will know Him. Please pray with me.

Team 3 is here. They went to Kyiv today. Most of them are from
Tampa--J.J.'s church where Calyn and I went to training 3 years ago
(wow, I can't believe it was that long ago...crazy).

Tomorrow I am going to try and post the story "The Bet" for you which
is what the main Drama that they are doing this year is based on.
Very cool story...

You guys should send us some e-mails...our moms are amazing...but we
want to know what's going on in your lives this summer...and its not
like we can check your blogs to find out...keep us posted...we love
you guys and miss you :o)

Peace Out.

Ok, so I s'pose most of you read Calyn's blog and are already aware,
but...THERE ARE 8 PEOPLE SIGNED UP FOR CAMP 7--which is 2 more than we
have this week, so its certainly doable :o) God is so good. And
Amberly's mom and Josh's dad are both coming, so that will be cool,
too. My English class went better today than it did yesterday; and
Amberly is coming tomorrow to make necklaces with our kids so that
will be fun.

I mush confess, I miss Dr. Pepper, but I have been keeping up on my
caffine fix with tea every morning and coffee every night. Yum. I
love it.

Last night we had a "meeting in the van" and those are always super
fun. I love spending time with Oleg and hearing where his heart is.

God is doing some awesome things through Radooga in Ukraine, and not
just through camps. So Cool. I am honored to be here and to work
with such awesome people.

Well, off to rec :o) I love you all.

Lori

So, today was the first day of English Classes and Skeef and I are
certainly not the most fun teachers in the world. We have the most
advanced class and most of them speak better english than I do. There
are these two girls "the twins" (they are twins, but that is also what
we call them) who are in our class named Tanya and Jenya and they know
more slang than me too :o) So, we played a lot today. On Jenya's
english test she wrote "what's up ya'll...opps, I suppose I should
write something proper here. I love Radooga and I love God and I am
really happy to be here again this summer..." and on and on and
on...it was awesome. Skeef taught them how to play "nub ball" which
is basically ultimate frisbee with a ball instead of a frisbee and you
have to use only your elbows and your knees to throw, catch or hit the
ball to your team mates. They love it. I even played with them
(aren't ya'll impressed) I have a scraped knee, too. The Twins
insisted on carrying me all the way to the cafetiria for lunch since
my knee was injured :o) Pray for drama this week..we are a little
short handed :o) but, Skeef and Carli are helping out a lot so that
is good. They are my heros :o) Well, its time for Rec and its water
day, so I am headed to the Rec field with some water ballons and a
launcher...this should be fun...

Peace Out!

Privyet!!!

Wow! I really don't know where to begin or what to say. Thank you for
your prayers on repentance night. It was amazing and there really are
not words. I'm just excited that it is going to happen six more times
this summer.

Continue to pray for camp 7...there are people who
really want to come (Steve Tanner from last year...some people from
team 1 are trying to come back...4 people from Josh on summer staff's
church...Josh's dad...Amberly's mom...) Several of these people have
said that they are definatly coming and at this point it is a matter
of mone so PLEASE PLEASE pray hard for God to provide, if you want
information on how to contact any of these people in order to help
support them please e-mail me at Lori@radooga.net :o) I know God has
big plans for camp 7 and I am really excited about the team he is
putting together to come.

Team 1 (and mark :o( left this morning. Sad Day. :o( But, Campers
arrive tomorrow so that will be exciting! A lot of churches from last
summer will be here this camp, so I eill probably know some of the
kids and it will be fun to see them again. I will be teaching an
advanced english class with Skeef (which basically means we will be
discussing life in American high schools and teaching them slang words
and stuff...it will be fun :o)

Pray for drama this week...there are only 2 people on the drama team
(Carli said she'd help too, so that's good) but its gonna be a little
crazy.

Well, Jake says we need to e-mail Dropship Phealin (his friend Taylor
who is comming for camp 4) and give him a list of things the Summer
Staff need...so, we're off (Jake says he loves you guys!) I wish I
could e-mail you guys pics of people so you would be able to put names
with faces...I'm really glad some of you are coming so you will meet
most of them. Happy Day!

Anyway, Jake is taking the keyboard away from me...so...

Peace Out!

Tonight is Invitation Night...So PRAY HARD. :o) I know that God has
Awesome plans for many of the kids tonight and even throughout the
day.

This week is Orpahn week...which means the majority of the kids
at this camp are orphans. On the english tests the kids are asked to
write the alphabet and a paragraph about themselves--their family,
their school, their friends etc. When Calyn and I were grading them
on the back of one of the tests a boy we placed in one of the beginner
classes had written "My name is Sasha. My family is not. My mother is
not. My father is not." It really broke me. So, I would ask that you
pray for him tonight specifically. Pray that He would come to know
God as his Father and to know that He very much Is. That He loves him
so much more than any earthly parent could even fathom loving.

Last year duting orpan week two girls accepted Christ. They went back
to their orpahnage and began to share God's love with the other kids
at their orphanage...By the end of one week being home in their room
which was supposed to hold 10 children they had crammed 20 beds and
everyone was anxious to be near these two girls. Several of the other
orphans at their orphanage have accepted Christ b/c of their eagerness
to share and it is obvious that the other kids have seen the
difference in their lives and want to be close to it. God is so
good!!!! That one story makes it worth being here again this year
(and their are countless more) God is doing huge things in Ukraine
through Radooga. It rocks my socks off to think that two girls heard
about Jesus and loved him so much that they wanted all the kids they
lived with to know Him, too and now there is an orpahnage full of kids
who didn't know Jesus ready to tell the world. That's what the gospel
is all about. Knowing Jesus and helping others to know Him, too.
Love God, Love People, right? :o)

Team 2 arrives this afternoon. I will begin orientation with them.
There are only 6 of them so the American Summer Staff will be very
busy during this next camp so please pray that we will get sufficient
rest and will be able to get everything done that needs to be done.

Camp One has been awesome thus far and I am so excited to think that
there are six more camps to come. I know that this summer is going to
fly by and that kinda makes me sad, so pray that I will be here in the
moment and not focused too much on what's next. :o)

Water Day for Rec was yesterday and it was super fun. God was all
over it, b/c it was freezing in the morning and rainy. Carli decided
that we would have to cancel it...:o( then, tbe sun came out and it
was warm during the seconed session of English classes, then when we
were setting up the sun went behind a cloud and it was freezing
again...and we discussed other activities we could do...then, at Rec
time the sun was out and we played all the games and Jake and Roma had
a water balloon launcher and they were shooting water balloons at
everyone and it was great. And as we were walking back from the rec
feild it started pouring again. Crazy. God is so good to us. Even
something that seems as unimportant as water day is still important to
HIM. I love it. :o) It reminds me how special we are.

Peace Out!
Lori

That's right, today's lunch was served complete with eyeball juice.
YUM! (for those of you who are a bit confused, eyeball juice is what
we have taken to calling this juice that has fruit in the bottom of
it...through the glass it looks like eyeballs)

Camp has gone supprisingly well thus far...and its camp one...it can
only get better from here right...well, at least that's what we hope
:o)

The Drama is AMAZING! It is a story that takes place at the end of
the 19th century called "The Bet" its a pretty famous russian short
story...anyway, Valera expanded on it and added some characters and
we've only seen the first night of it, but it was really cool. Its
impressive to me that I can't understand the words, but I am still
captivated by what's going on on stage.

Tyoma is one of the actors and he is so much fun. He and Amberly
really get along well and play around together a lot, which is really
cool b/c she speaks about as much Russian as I do and he speaks about
as much english as we speak russian...its just cool how b/c we are
working for a common purpose we jump over the language berrier and
make friends. I love that our God is a God of relationships.

Prayer Request: Team 2 arrives on Monday and there are only 6 of them
and then the 10 of us All Summer Staff (whom Lena V. has taken to
affectionaltly calling "Amerikrainians") So, all the summer staff will
be teaching english on top of our other responsibilities, so pray that
we will get sufficient rest.

Praise: There is a girl named Vera who was here last summer. She had
so much fun that she is back...but, she is deaf. Carli, an
Amerikrainian, knows American Sign Language really well, so she took a
translator and a white board and instead of "English Classes" they
were able to teah each other some sign language in different
languages. WOW!!! I was so excited that Carli had that opportunity.

I love you guys (and Taddie, T, Diane, Nicole and Jenshka--27 days!)

Peace Out!

Privet!

Hey Guys! Camp One starts tomorrow...so be in prayer for the kids who
are comming.

Thought you all would like to know that though Calyn and I were
nervous of being Christian Horton deprived for an entire summer, God
provided with Jacob Peter Mumm. Jake is so much like Christian its
not even funny. The other day we were walking through Kyiv and in
Independence Square there were these kids skateboarding and he got
them to let him skateboard, too. It was awesome.

Yesterday we basically prepared for camp. I am on Team B, so I
haven't had a whole lot of responsibilities yet. Team 2 will be here
on Monday and that is when my life will get busy.

I heard that you guys got to hear about Mr. Scott's Africa trip. SO
COOL!!! I love that man :o)

When is the New Orleans trip and who all is going? Let me know so I
can be praying for you guys.

Pray for us to get enough rest; the past couple nights we have been up
late and gotten really giggly. Especially Vin. Mark did the ET
finger, b/c he didn't realize how tramatic that is for her. He felt
bad afterwards, but it was pretty funny.

Oh, Oleg's mom is here now! YEA! be in prayer for her, she is not a
Christian, but she is really sweet and we like her a lot. She runs
the camp store and provides us with drinks and snacks. essentials for
life at camp.

Ok, well, thats all for now...I'll try and talk to you guys agian
soon.

Love and hugs,
Lori

ALEC!!! I tried to e-mail you back, but it gave me a notice saying
that I have to fill out a form so that you can add me to your
acceptable e-mail account, but I do not have internet access therefor,
I cannot fill out any form. so add me to your list, nerd.
Lori@radooga.net and everyone else...please tell Alec about this if
you see him and he has not read my blog. Thank you.

Ok, prayer wariors, buckle up...we desparatly need your prayers...

Camp 7 has zero Americans signed up for it. Radooga USA is
encouraging Radooga to cancel this week of camp. The American Summer
Staff at that point will be down by 2 (Deb and Calyn). We are praying
really hard over here for God to show us what He wants us to do.
There are alreay many Ukrainians signed up for this camp and we can't
imagine having to cancel it. I will try and get you more and better
updates on this as soon as possible, but for now PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
pray that we will be seeking God's heart for this week and that He
would work a miracle and bring us some mission hearted Americans for
that week.

for some fun facts about today visit Calyn's blog (listed on my "blogs
I read" section...)

I love you all and appreciate your prayers--especially when we are a
world apart...it really connects us all.

Ok, so we began praying for mark and his team to make it on time
before we even got here...and today we got an e-mail telling us to
pray b/c of the tropical storm approaching...a couple in their church
had to drive them to Atlanta to catch their filght. In Atlanta they
got their early and were told they could not get on the earlyer flight
out of Atlanta...So, Mark was able to go talk to the people at the
airport and share what they are coming to do and why it is important
for them to catch their flight. So, one of the guys came to him and
told him that it did not look good for the assigned flight b/c of the
approaching storm...but, he had gotten them seats on rthe early
flight!!!! Yea! so as far as we know he and team 1 are on their way.
:o)

Team one comes tomorrow so that means updates may not be as frequent.
I will try my best to keep you posted.

We went to Kyiv today and saw Sveyta and Nadia. So, that was
happy...oh, and Little Andre is back...he helped with video stuff last
summer and is really sweet, so we are glad he is back.

Don't forget to let us know what's going on in Tally. We love your
e-mails...

Здравствуйте!

Happy...ummm...I'm not real sure what day it is...Friday, I think :o)
I found out a secret today (Veronica told me) She said that we will be
going into the city tomorrow. Happy Day. I miss Kyiv. :o)

I also love the sweet tea we have all the time here. I may be Dr.
Pepper deprived, but my caffeine intake has not changed. :o)

We walked to the store today and I got Ukrainian Icecream...boy, have
I missed that. It is so yummy (koosna) and so cheap...which could be
a bad thing for my health but is very happy for my wallet and my tummy
:o)

Story Time:

ok, so we were doing this personality test thing with our program
groups (rec, administration, creative). I am on the creative
team--who thought that was a good idea!?!--Anyway, we are the only
team that has both Ukrainians and Americans and no one who speaks both
languages...so we asked Veronica to come inturpret...She comes over
and tells the the instructions which are "Go around the circle and say
what you appreciate about each person--we will start with Artyom" and
then she goes back to the administration group--Calyn, Braylin, Deb
and Carly (note they are all Americans)--and leaves us to say nice
things about Artyom who will not understand them...So, our whloe
group is laughing and shouting for Veronica to come back. but it was
pretty funny...

oh, one more funny thing...Oleg asked all of us (Radooga Summer Staff)
to share inspirational stories...granted its like 10pm and none of us
have gotten enough sleep... so they turned into funny stories about last
year and stuff like that...anyway when it got to Olegs turn he was
asking if he should do it in English or Russian. Dennis, one of the
translators, asked if he would do it in English--I think he is kinda
tired of going from Russian to English. So, Oleg start going off in
English...blah blah blah blah blah blah blah--with no pauses at all
and we all yell "Oleg!!!" and he goes "what???" so we told him to
pause so Dennis could translate for the Ukrainian congrigation, but
Oleg of all people not pausing for translation...oy vey!

Well, thats it for now...time to go eat Skeef's birthday pineapple.
yum.

Peace Out!

Hey Everyone!!!

We had another great day, but we're all really tired. That's a huge
prayer request...that we get enough rest this summer.

Roma just told me that they have a cartoon where there is a creature
that eats clocks. I'm not sure about that one, but that's what he
said. Roma also doesn't believe that peacoks are real birds...he
thinks that they are imaginary...but we told him that we have seen
them. I love Roma. Dennis who is one of the translators (not dennis
from last year, a different one) is laughing at us trying to explain
things to each other, but I love it. It is so much fun.

Well, Sorry this was short check karosheeyashik@blogspot.com for more
on today, we are headed to worship in 3 mins, so I have to go.

Peace Out!

Здравствуйте,

Oh, my goodness...it is like I am back home again. I can't express
how great it is to be back in Ukraine. I miss you all a lot already,
but my heart knows that it is where it is s'posed to be and that is an
awesome feeling. We have spent the past couple days getting to know
the staff (Ukrainian and American) All of whom are stinking awesome!!
It is so great to see old friends and to make new ones...

The American Summer Staff this year is me, Vin, and Skeef (from last
year) Jake, Carly, Amberly, Braylin, Josh, Justin and Deb...And I
think its gonna be a great summer :o)

Oleg and Lena are great and it is so wonderful to be with them again.

I'm learning more russian already, so hopfully by the end of the
summer I'll at least have a bit better vocabulary. I can say "I swept
the auditorium" and I'm learning my utinsils... fork, spoon, etc. :o)

Well, e-mail time is short, but I love you all.

Oh, and Jake wants to say something...
What's up America. I want you to know that I miss you, and you can
stop worrying now: I am fine. Love you.

Also, e-mail me at lori@radooga.net and check out Vin's blog for more

This is Independence Square Posted by Hello

These are a couple really famous spots in Kiev Posted by Hello

Ok...so in preparation for Ukraine...here are some pics I took last summer... Posted by Hello

Awww...aren't they cute :o) Posted by Hello

Seeing if this works

Hey Everyone!

I am e-mailing this and hoping that it posts to my blog so that ya'll can see it.  If it works I will be able to post from Ukraine and that would be stinking awesome :o)

Talked to Toddie and some of you who are on the bike trip tonight.  That was great...I will try and call one more time before I leave to say bye to you all :o)

Hung out with Mr. Scott today; he just got home from Africa.  He's so cool.  you should ask him about his trip.  :o)

Yesterday I went to St. Andrews with Jesse, Seth, Susanna, Luke, Hunter, Alex, Diane, James and Ian.  We had a lot of fun.  It was actually one of the best beach trips I've had in a long, long time. I really don't understand why people go to St. George...PC is so much prettier and their are cool rocks to play on. and the water is clear.  its just better.  I love it.  Calyn and Lindsey and I are going back on Thurs.  I am super excited about that.

Well, I hope this posts...
