Question of the Week...

Ok, everyone...here is my question of the week

If you could do anything with your life...you didn't have to worry about money or anything...what would you do?

For example:

Kyle Stringer said:

I would start an economy in a 3rd world country and help them to keep it going so that the people could take care of themselves. I think that would be cool. Then, I would go bungie jumping and skydiving and that kind of stuff. Then, I would go to a bunch of amusement parks...no wait, I would build my own amusement park...

I've just been thinking a lot latly and I want to know what you guys would do w/o any limitations. If you could dream as big as you wanted what would you dream???

Beautiful Feet

Good evening peeps. Well, it was monday. Really it wasn't that bad. I was really tired this morning though. So, I took a nap after before school. Then, I played parachute games with Pre-K and Kindergarten during after school. That was super fun. Then, I went to my last Monday night Bible Study which was really great we talked about the parralles btween Boaz being Ruth's Kinsman Redeemer and Jesus being ours. Its pretty spiffy how the Bible is really just one big story even though it is made up of lots of smaller ones. Our God is just cool like that :o) So, that was basically my Monday. Hope ya'll have a great week.

The End is Near!

We only have one smallville episode left in Season 3. We are having a party on Thursday night to finnish up. It will be bitter sweet. (ok, so I'm overreacting :o) it will be fun and season four will be out in October and we are going to have marathons when T is home for Thanksgiving and Christmas :o) Yeah, yeah, we're obsessed. But, know this...it is Boy Meets World that will occompany me to Ukraine this summer--not Smallville. Because we all know who won the poll :o)

Update on my week

Ok, so Calyn is for real going to remove me from her "blogs I read" section because I have been a HUGE slacker for like...11 days...wow. sorry about that...

Today I have been working on finding skits we can use in Ukraine this summer (and Moulin Rouge has been keeping me company.) Its really hard to find skits that don't have words but still make since and have a good point. I'm still looking though, and if ya'll have any ideas e-mail them to me at LJSplash12@aol.com.

I'll fill you in on my week...

Monday:
-- Miss Jennifer's 21st b-day. Happy day Jenn!!! (miss Jennifer lost her liscence about a week ago and so she took her passport to Bulwinkles as her ID and the bouncer wouldn't take it...so she asked him to call her dad who is a lieutenant with the police department...he did and he let her in. I do not support Miss Jennifers drinking habits--I love you, Jenn :o)--but, I do think it is a funny story).
--We had our Ruth Bible Study at NBC and I really enjoyed it again.
--I drove--quickly, fastly, safely--to FSU so that I could attend the final University Singers concert in which my friend Gaby was singing. When I got there a bunch of people were leaving and I thought I had missed it, but really the first group had just finnished and I was right on time to see Singers.
--Afterwards we went to Bennigans and I had baked potato soup--yummy :o) and good times with peeps I hadn't seen in a long time.

Tuesday:
--Work, work, work.
--Dinner with Diane and Shannon so I could catch up on the Love, Sex and Lasting Relationships videos that I miss in LIFE group b/c I sing with the choir.

Wednesday:
--work
--lunch at Elchico's
--work
--went to church and hung out with Calyn and Diane and then we worked on ideas for Love, Sex and the Imagination series for youth.

Thursday:
--work
--sleep
--work
--Went to Kenleys to say "hi" to him and david and kevin before they went to the concert. Then, Calyn called and said that Mark Smith was working at the addoption table at the concert. So, of course we had to go see him and Jennifer. They are some of the coolest people I know. So, we just told the ticket-taker lady that we didn't come for the concert, but that our friend Mark Smith had called and said he was here and we came to see him and she let us in. Like Mark Smith is really someones name. kidding. It was super awesome to see them and to see all you guys who were at the concert. I'm glad Calyn and I got to go.

Friday:
--work
--Mom's b-day party at school with her kids. Complete with cupcakes, presents and all :o)
--work. have I mentioned that I love Dylan Dinosaur. He says that I have a "dweet wide" (that would be a sweet ride for those of you who don't speak dinosaur) and that my truck is better than Mr. Matt's. Smart Kid.
--Dinner with mom and dad and grandma for mom's b-day. I love my mommy.

So, there you go...that's what you missed this week in my life. Hope you had a good one, too.

"Peet out!" (that's dinosaur for peace out)

Just for Calyn

Ok, so Calyn is sad that the blogging community is slacking off, so here is a blog from me today just so Vin can have something to read :o)

Let's see, what do you need to know...

...cheers season four is now out on DVD. This is a very important season b/c Woody enters the scene.

...I am now on Boy Meets World season 3; which is very exciting for me. (oooh, it is really funny during one of the episodes when Mr. Feeny takes Eric to the opera--how many of you caught my reference to that on the screen during Toddie's game at youth on Sunday.)

...I am going to the SL Conference AGAIN this weekend with Calyn and Tamara in Atlanta and am super excited. AND I will get to spend some hang time with my dear friend Veronica!!! (and we'll probably have to call Lauren or something :o)

...oh, I bought an international phone card at Wal-Mart tonight. The guy told me they didn't have any, but Calyn had already seen them and was telling me about them. I wish people would just say they don't know instead of making stuff up. Oh, well, I am excited about calling Oleg and Lena anyway :o)

...Oh, precept Bible Study on Monday night was super awesome!!! (I will try and do a seperate post on what I'm learning in that soon)

...Oh, Taco Bell was out of everything last night...ok, not everything. but--no potatos, no chalupas, no cinnamin twists. It was a sad night at Taco Bell :o(

Ok, that's it for now. Have a super Wednesday and I'll try and get back with ya'll soon.

As Corie Lynne Miller (now Smith) would say:
"Goodnight; Sweet Dreams; I love you."

Godby DCT Lunchen

Happy Weekend Everybody...

I don't know about ya'll, but after this week, I was sure ready for it :o) It wasn't really a bad week, but definatly a long week; and stressfull at times. I am greatful for the break and it has started out well...

You guys will appreciate this...ok, so I went to an employer/employee lunchen for Godby DCT yesterday--I being the employer (that's weird--but, Ms. Julie was out of town and thus, I was next in line...it was either me or Matt, and we all knew he wouldn't go... and Miss Stephanie being the employee) I don't know Miss Stephanie all that well so it was a good opportunity to get to know her a little better...anyway, the part you will appreciate...They recognized all of the employers and had their work study student stand with them as some person came and presented the employer with a gift. So they called my name "Lori Jackson--Assistant Director, Springwood Extended Day Enrichment Program" and Miss Stephanie and I stood up, and the gave HER my award :o( sad day. but, it was funny and we were both laughing about it :o) and she gave it to me as we sat down, so I did get my present...and I had told her that would happen...story of my life. Anyway I thought some of you--Paul--would enjoy that :o)

A Thunderous Love

Today at work, I was in the Cafetiria, playing Bingo with my board games class when the downpour hit. Granted, it didn't last long, but long enough to send all the kids from the playground rushing to the Cafeteria. I'm not sure why everything seemed so chaotic this afternoon--mom said it had been like that all day-- but in the middle of the chaos, my ears shifted toward the sound of frightened crying. One of my k-clubbers was whailing; I thrust the microphone I had been holding at Mr. Matt and ran to see what had set off Austin C. A usually tough kid. He said that the rain was scarry and he didn't like it and that he just wanted to go home. I sat next to him for a long while, while Mr. Matt and the other staff began to settle the other kids for a movie and computer lab. After about 10 min. Austin stopped crying long enough to look up at me and ask "Miss Lori, did God make it rain like this?" Austin was scared--in the rain, He saw the power of God, and it scared him. I told Austin that God did make it rain, but then we talked about why we need rain. We talked about how the grass and trees and plants need to drink the water and what would happen if it didn't rain--I reminded him of the pictures I had showed him from Guatemala and of the drought we had talked about after I got back. I told him that the rain is a good thing, and that we would be safe inside and that his mom would be here soon to pick him up. Austin seemed contented to hear that and went to join the other kids on the stage. About a half hour later, Austin came up behind me and grabbed my shirt, "Miss Lori," he said again, "next time it rains I'm gonna think that God loves me." Wow. Thank you, Austin C. for reminding me that my God is powerful enough to send rain and gentle enough to show Himself to a five year old. :o)
