When I first got to the office this morning I got to talk to Oleg Magdych which was really cool. Later, when Oleg V. and Lena got there the staff (now including Daniel) and Johnny (who is here to help Oleg with his new house) went bowling. No, I didn’t bowl; but I had fun jammin’ to the 90s music being played at the bowling alley and hanging out with the staff. (Pictures soon to come). Valera got a strike while turned around backwards and throwing the ball between his legs. It was great. Then we ate sheshlik. Then we went to this coffee house called Theater of Coffee and I had caramel coffee and it was very yummy. When I got home A and I had to go grocery shopping and then Dennis came over and we watched some old school Saturday Night Live. Thought we’d introduce Dennis to some more American Pop Culture :o) Soon to come—Seinfeld. Yeeesssss.

Paul...I know you were kidding so don't take this wrong...
but Lori...I'm sure you now know that anybody who is not doing ministry full time can never fully grasp what it is really like. You could give them a time sheet (as we've been required to do here from time to time) but there is no way to reflect on that time sheet what it's like to lay in your bed at night and not sleep because you still see the faces of kids in your mind that you wish would 'get it' but just don't seem to. I'm sure you know what it's like to want to celebrate the great things you see God doing in ministry but just can't seem to shake the image of that one kid you are praying so desperately for God to move in but nothing seems to happen. So yes, people who work 'regular jobs' will always look at you and compare but in reality there is just no way to compare. Your 'job' will never be done. There will always be another kid, somewhere in Ukraine, in desperate need of hope and you will always have something deep inside you that struggles to find soul rest as long as you know that kid is out there.
And with your situation I'm sure you can multiply all of that by 1,000. As many friends as you have over there none of us on this side could begin to grasp what it must be like to have moved 6,000 miles away from home...friends...and family. So, I personally, find it incredibly encouraging to see that you are having fun, loving life and enjoying friendship in Ukraine. So please don't stop letting us know about that side of your life! Have a great day!
